Production Manager
Location: Boston, MA
Based in Boston, this is a hybrid position that requires 2-3 days in the office.
Tracksmith is hiring a Production Manager to own bulk production execution across our apparel, accessories, and footwear line. This role is responsible for taking product from development complete through PO placement, production tracking, issue resolution, and supporting on-time delivery, creating operational leverage for a small Product team.
The role will be the day-to-day driver of our production engine, aligning factories and vendors to timelines, ensuring accuracy in production inputs, and proactively managing risk so deliveries land on time and to spec.
Responsibilities:
Production execution

Own the bulk production process from PO submission through final delivery, with a focus on carryover and core programs

Build and manage Time and Action or critical path tracking by style, vendor, and season, maintaining clear status reporting and escalation paths

Ensure all production inputs are accurate and complete, including style-level BOM and spec references, pack details, labeling, and approvals

Drive clean handoffs from product completion into bulk production
Vendor management and problem-solving

Serve as primary day-to-day contact for manufacturing partners on production status, changes, and timelines

Identify and resolve risks early, including material delays, capacity constraints, quality issues, PP or TOP discrepancies, and timeline slips

Coordinate internally and externally to protect deliveries and maintain production integrity

Partner with onsite and 3P quality assurance and compliance stakeholders as needed to ensure issues are documented, corrected, and closed
Operational rigor and process improvement

Track delivery performance (on-time and in-full) and drive vendor accountability

Continuously improve repeatable processes for carryover styles and seasonal execution

Maintain production documentation and systems hygiene across PLM or ERP inputs, order trackers, approvals, and production notes

Create clarity and efficiency across seasons with fewer surprises, tighter execution, and better visibility
Centric PLM Execution

Own bulk production execution within the Centric PLM suite as the system of record

Maintain accurate style-level production data (BOMs, specs, approvals, vendor milestones, delivery timelines)

Drive Time & Action tracking, workflow hygiene, and cross-functional visibility through Centric

Ensure clean handoff from development complete into PO-ready bulk execution

Centric PLM experience required (hands-on use across production, vendor collaboration, and approvals)
ERP Execution

Create and manage purchase orders in NetSuite across all active production seasons, ensuring accuracy in item details, quantities, costs, and delivery dates

Maintain and update PO records throughout the order lifecycle, including amendments for quantity changes, price adjustments, date revisions, and cancellations

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to confirm PO acknowledgments and resolve discrepancies between issued orders and vendor confirmations

Monitor open PO status and proactively flag delays, shortfalls, or exceptions to cross-functional stakeholders

Support reconcile vendor packing lists against POs and receipts to support accurate and timely accounts payable processing

Maintain clean and up-to-date item, vendor, and cost records within NetSuite to support reporting and planning accuracy

Generate and interpret saved searches and reports in NetSuite to track PO status, landed costs, and production milestones

Support seasonal setup activities including item/sku creation, UPC assignment, and product classification
-
Partner with Finance, Operations, and Planning teams to ensure ERP data integrity supports demand planning, inventory visibility, and financial reporting
Qualifications

5 to 6+ years of experience in apparel production, either brand-side or vendor-side, with direct ownership of bulk execution and factory or vendor management

Fluency in production workflows and milestones, including Time and Action, critical path, PP and TOP approvals, capacity planning, and quality follow-up

Strong operational instincts: detail-oriented, timeline-driven, and comfortable making judgment calls to keep work moving

Clear communicator who can run point across cross-functional teams including Development, Design, Merchandising, and Operations or Logistics

Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and comfort working in ERP, PLM and production tracking systems
Additional

Experience in performance or athletic apparel/footwear, or within a product-led brand where quality and execution matter

Familiarity with vendor compliance and QA workflows
The annual salary for this role is expected to be between $60,000 and $90,000 depending on a combination of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and industry knowledge.
