Senior Director, Finance

Location: Boston
(This position requires 1-2 working days per week in the office located on Newbury Street in Boston.)

The Senior Director of Finance will oversee and execute all of Tracksmith’s financial operations. Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in managing the financial health of the company, supporting strategic decision making, and driving sustainable growth and profitability. You will bring best practices and solid hands-on skills in strategic planning and analysis, accounting operations, and financial management. As a leader who is comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, you will work with the team to drive results and will be responsible for taking the lead on financials, budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee execution of all financial areas, including: FP&A, Accounting, Treasury and Compliance.
  • Strategic planning together with the senior leadership team and Board of Directors.
  • Lead the annual budget process, including scenario planning, and maintain the interim period forecast with consideration for actual trends.
  • Monitor and manage costs throughout the organization, including production, sourcing, distribution, and overhead, with an eye towards optimizing operational efficiency to improve profitability.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. and U.K. GAAP standards.
  • Prepare regular variance and other reporting for the leadership team, Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor cash flow and identify opportunities to optimize cash sources and uses.
  • Manage the internal finance & accounting team as well as the company’s tax, audit, banking, and insurance vendors.
  • Oversee HR functions, including compensation and benefits packages, recruitment and retention strategies, employee development and performance evaluations, and policy development and compliance with the support of the HR Director who reports into this position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience and growth within the finance field
  • 2+ years experience managing finance/accounting professionals including hiring, onboarding and performance management
  • Highly organized and adaptable with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in an omni-channel, inventory-based company preferred
  • Enjoys working in a start-up environment with a "roll up your sleeves" approach to leveraging a small team

Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Experience in the footwear and apparel industry
  • Experience with a global footprint, including cross-border transactions and international entities
