AI at Cvent: Leading the Future

Are you ready to shape the future of work at the intersection of human expertise and AI innovation? At Cvent, we’re committed to continuous learning and adaptation—AI isn’t just a tool for us, it’s part of our DNA. We’re looking for candidates who are eager to evolve alongside technology. If you love to experiment boldly, share your discoveries, and help define best practices for AI-augmented work, you’ll thrive here. Our team values professionals who thoughtfully integrate AI into their daily work, delivering exceptional results while relying on the human judgment and creativity that drive real innovation.

Throughout our interview process, you’ll have the chance to demonstrate how you use AI to learn, iterate, and amplify your impact. If you’re excited to be part of a team that’s leading the way in AI-powered collaboration, we’d love to meet you.

The Integrations group connects Cvent data to third‑party platforms so customers can activate trusted event data across their marketing stack. Our integrations provide user‑friendly configuration, process large volumes of data, and deliver updates to destination systems in near real time. This role partners closely with the engineering teams building these capabilities and collaborates horizontally with the platform teams where data is produced.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead high‑performing teams building scalable, secure, and reliable integrations. You’ll drive technical direction, coach and grow engineers, and partner cross‑functionally to ship high‑quality features with operational excellence.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Partner with Product Management to shape the roadmap for new integrations and enhancements, translating strategy into clear technical plans and staffing needs.
  • Own delivery and operational excellence across integration services, ensuring quality, security, performance, and scalability goals are met.
  • Provide hands‑on technical leadership through design and architecture reviews, pragmatic guidance on implementation, and thoughtful trade‑off decisions.
  • Establish, document, and uphold coding standards, secure‑by‑default practices, performance guidelines, and review processes.
  • Elevate quality and reliability via test automation, CI/CD improvements, observability (metrics, logs, traces), and effective incident response/RCAs.
  • Develop and coach engineers at all levels; set goals, provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and create growth plans.
  • Hire and retain top talent; partner with recruiting and contribute to building an inclusive, high‑trust, high‑impact team culture.
  • Foster strong collaboration with adjacent teams (e.g., data producers, platform/universal APIs, email/ESS, auth) to unblock dependencies and ensure end‑to‑end outcomes.
  • Continuously improve SDLC processes (planning, estimation, delivery, change management, retrospectives) to increase predictability and throughput.
  • Communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders; ensure transparency and alignment across technology and business partners.

Here's What You Need:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems and/or leading complex software projects.
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience in a software development organization.
  • Demonstrated success delivering event‑driven, near‑real‑time integrations or data pipelines at scale, with strong fundamentals in distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of MarTech ecosystems (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot) and how customers operationalize workflows in those systems.
  • Proficiency with integration patterns and data movement (APIs, webhooks, ETL/ELT, retries, idempotency, backoff, rate‑limit handling).
  • Strong grasp of modern SDLC practices: test automation, CI/CD, code review, trunk‑based or GitFlow workflows, and change management.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills; able to translate technical detail for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of application and data security best practices.

Preferred

  • Experience operating high‑volume, low‑latency services with measurable SLOs/SLIs and well‑tuned observability.
  • Hands‑on experience with event‑driven architectures and streaming/messaging technologies (e.g., queues, topics, subscribers).
  • Familiarity with data privacy/compliance considerations for integrations (e.g., data retention, deletion workflows, auditability).
  • Prior exposure to the event technology domain; experience with the Cvent platform is a plus.

Leadership competencies

  • Customer‑obsessed with a bias for action and outcomes.
  • Builds inclusive, high‑trust teams; invests in mentoring and career development.
  • Raises the bar on code quality, operational excellence, and engineering rigor.
  • Willing to dive into code and architecture to unblock the team while empowering engineers to own solutions.
