About the Role
At SkySafe, we are expanding our presence within the federal government and looking for a dynamic and results-driven Federal Sales Representative to help lead that effort. This role is responsible for driving new business and expanding SkySafe’s footprint across federal agencies by identifying opportunities, building strong relationships, and navigating the federal procurement landscape.The ideal candidate has deep experience selling into the federal market, understands the complexities of government contracting, and brings a strong network within defense, civilian, and intelligence agencies. This individual will play a critical role in bringing SkySafe’s cutting-edge drone detection and airspace intelligence technology to federal organizations responsible for national security, public safety, and infrastructure protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive federal sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within federal agencies, including defense, civilian, and intelligence sectors
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, contracting officers, and influencers within federal agencies
- Contracting: Navigate the federal procurement process, including GSAschedules, IDIQs, BPAs, and other contract vehicles to secure new business
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities within the federal market
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including product, marketing, and customer success, to tailor solutions that meet the specific needs of federal clients
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline development, and forecasting to the executive team
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of successful sales experience selling into the U.S. federal government market, preferably within a startup or fast-growing company
- Proven track record of closing deals with federal agencies, ideally in security, defense, or technology sectors
- Deep understanding of federal procurement processes, including regulations and common contract vehicles
- Established network within federal agencies, particularly across defense, civilian, or intelligence communities
- Motivation: Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in business, government, technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Within 1 Month, You Will
- Complete onboarding and gain a deep understanding of SkySafe’s technology, products, and value proposition
- Learn how SkySafe’s platform supports federal missions related to airspace awareness and drone detection
- Become familiar with the company’s current federal opportunities, pipeline, and go-to-market strategy
- Begin mapping key agencies, stakeholders, and contract vehicles relevant to your territory
Within 3 Months, You Will
- Begin actively developing and managing a federal sales pipeline
- Engage with key decision-makers and contracting officers across target federal agenciesIdentify and qualify new opportunities aligned with SkySafe’s capabilities
- Work closely with internal teams to develop proposals and tailored federal solutions
Within 6 Months, You Will
- Successfully progress multiple opportunities through the federal procurement cycle
- Establish strong relationships with key agency stakeholders and partners
- Contribute to capturing and closing initial federal contractsHelp refine SkySafe’s federal go-to-market strategy based on market insights
Within 12 Months, You Will
- Consistently drive federal revenue growth and contract wins
- Expand SkySafe’s presence across multiple federal agencies
- Help establish long-term strategic relationships with government customers and partners
- Play a key role in shaping the company’s federal sales strategy and expansion plans

This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US person under US export laws or, eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license. A US Person includes a US citizen, lawful Permanent Resident, refugee or asylee.
Compensation $200K base / $200K variable ($400K OTE)
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. Salary is just one part of our total compensation package that includes equity, perks & benefits, and development opportunities at SkySafe. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other SkySafers.
