About the Role
As the Director of Customer Success, you will lead the post-sales customer journey, ensuring a seamless experience from onboarding to renewal and expansion. You will be responsible for driving customer adoption, increasing retention, identifying upsell opportunities, and maximizing customer lifetime value. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to align customer needs with our technology roadmap.

Key Responsibilities - Customer Relationship & Success Management

  • Own and manage strategic customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure value realization
  • Develop and execute customer success strategies to drive adoption, engagement, and satisfaction
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, collecting feedback to inform product enhancements

Retention, Renewals & Expansion

  • Drive high customer retention and renewal rates through proactive engagement
  • Identify expansion opportunities, collaborating with Sales to drive upsells and cross-sell
  • Analyze customer usage data and success metrics to anticipate risks and intervene proactively
  • Develop customer advocacy programs, fostering case studies, referrals, and testimonials

Leadership & Strategy

  • Build and scale a high-performing
  • Customer Success team as the company grows
  • Define and track key performance metrics, ensuring data-driven decision-making
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop customer engagement programs, webinars, and events
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure customer needs are met in roadmap planning

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in Customer Success, Account Management, or a related role within a SaaS company
  • Proven track record of driving renewals, retention, and customer expansion
  • Strong experience managing enterprise and government customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing customer success teams
  • Experience working in security, defense, or drone technology industries is a plus
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in CRM, customer analytics, and success platforms (e.g., Gainsight, Salesforce)
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Within 1 Month, You Will

  • Complete onboarding and gain a deep understanding of SkySafe’s technology, product offerings, and customer base
  • Learn the current customer lifecycle, onboarding processes, and renewal workflows
  • Meet key customers and stakeholders to understand their goals and success metrics
  • Review current customer health data, retention metrics, and existing success strategies

Within 3 Months, You Will

  • Begin actively managing strategic customer relationships and leading key customer engagements
  • Implement structured processes for customer health tracking, adoption monitoring, and renewal management
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to identify expansion opportunities and improve customer experience
  • Launch initiatives to strengthen customer engagement and feedback loops

Within 6 Months, You Will

  • Establish scalable customer success frameworks for onboarding, adoption, retention, and expansion
  • Implement measurable customer success KPIs and reporting dashboards
  • Strengthen relationships with strategic accounts and contribute to successful renewals and upsell opportunities
  • Begin hiring or expanding the Customer Success team as needed

Within 12 Months, You Will

  • Build a high-performing Customer Success organization that supports SkySafe’s growth
  • Drive strong renewal rates, customer retention, and measurable expansion revenue
  • Develop a robust customer advocacy program featuring case studies, references, and testimonials
  • Play a key role in shaping SkySafe’s customer experience strategy and long-term growth plans

This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US person under US export laws or, eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license. A US Person includes a US citizen, lawful Permanent Resident, refugee or asylee.
Compensation $150K base / $50K MBO ($200K OTE)
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. Salary is just one part of our total compensation package that includes equity, perks & benefits, and development opportunities at SkySafe. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other SkySafers.
