Backed by Google's Gradient Ventures and Cathay Innovations, we're in hyper-growth mode and looking for exceptional talent to join our starting lineup. Every Ranger at this stage is shaping our culture and way of life—from former CEOs and startup founders to experts from leading hedge funds and tech companies.
If you're ready to build something that truly matters in financial services, bring your talent to Range. Here, you'll make a genuine impact on how people manage their financial lives while working alongside a team that celebrates wins, makes big decisions, and blazes new trails together.
About the role
We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Lead to take ownership of all financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision support at Range. In this role, you’ll build and manage our financial model, develop insights that drive executive decisions, and partner with department leads to guide our growth. You’ll also oversee the work of our external accounting and tax partners to ensure accurate reporting and operational excellence. You’ll be the first dedicated in-house finance leader at Range, with a key seat at the table as we scale through Series B and beyond.
We're excited to hire this role at Range's Headquarters in McLean, VA or New York City. All of our positions follow an in-office schedule Monday through Friday, allowing you to collaborate directly with the team. If you're not currently based in one of these areas but love what you see, let’s discuss relocation options as part of your journey to joining us.
What you’ll do with us
Build, manage, and continuously improve Range’s financial model to support short- and long-term strategic decisions
Own company-wide forecasting and budgeting processes in partnership with executive leadership
Develop board reporting and monthly/quarterly internal finance reporting to drive accountability and transparency
Oversee our external accounting firm (responsible for bookkeeping, close, tax, and compliance) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Partner with business leaders to model new initiatives, pricing, and growth opportunities
Develop operational KPIs and dashboards to monitor financial performance across the business
Drive investor reporting, fundraising modeling, and financial due diligence as needed
What will set you apart
12+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or investment banking—ideally in a B2C SaaS or tech company
Strong proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting
Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, unit economics, and growth-stage business drivers
Experience collaborating closely with external accounting teams and managing month-end close processes (without needing to do the day-to-day accounting yourself)
Ability to distill complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for leadership and board audiences
Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail, while maintaining a big-picture strategic mindset
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills; experience with modern FP&A tools a plus
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
