About the role

Range is hiring an iOS Engineer to lead development of our mobile experience. This engineer will play a foundational role in shaping the Range iOS application from architecture and design patterns to testing, CI/CD, and deployment.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and full-stack engineers to bring key user-facing features to life. You’ll also own platform stewardship: staying ahead of new iOS frameworks, guiding best practices across mobile development, and ensuring our app is fast, reliable, and delightful to use.

While you’ll be the first dedicated iOS engineer, you won’t be working alone; you'll partner with our broader engineering team to ensure smooth API integration, coherent product delivery, and a high-performance mobile foundation that scales with us.

We’re excited to hire this role at Range’s Headquarters in McLean, VA. All of our positions follow an in-office schedule Monday through Friday, allowing you to collaborate directly with the team. What you’ll do with us

• Lead the development and rollout of the Range iOS app, from architecture to App Store deployment

• Implement smooth, performant, and elegant mobile experiences that integrate tightly with our backend platform

• Own iOS platform evolution—evaluate new Apple frameworks, libraries, and ecosystem changes to keep us at the forefront of mobile development

• Establish mobile best practices across testing, monitoring, CI/CD, accessibility, and performance

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to define the right mobile-first user experience for complex financial features

• Act as the go-to expert for all things iOS, while working cross-functionally to ship full-stack features end to end
  

What will set you apart

• A strong track record of building and launching polished iOS apps, either independently or as a core contributor

• Deep understanding of Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI, concurrency, data persistence, and common iOS patterns like MVVM

• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for mobile apps

• Strong judgment in technical tradeoffs and comfort owning production systems in a high-stakes environment

• Excitement to operate as a hands-on builder and a platform leader guiding tooling, testing, and mobile quality as we grow

• Experience integrating with APIs, authentication, notifications, and third-party SDKs

• Great product instincts and a commitment to building mobile experiences that feel fast, intuitive, and modern

• Bonus points for fintech, security, or startup experience
