Novo is looking for an Engineering Manager who is passionate about building the best banking experience for small businesses.This role involves leading two teams of software engineers to work on our core banking solution, build a delightful user experience and unlock our growth potential. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of Product, Design and Testing to deliver ambitious goals. You will drive the long-term strategy, design, development and launch for the components owned by your teams. Are you ready to revolutionize the small business banking industry with us?

About the Role:

  • Build sophisticated core banking solutions and the best in class user experience to empower Novo’s small business customers to success.
  • Unlock your team's potential and the desire to excel in their roles through mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities.
  • Ensures timely delivery with clear project plan and timelines
  • Exercise judgment to resolve trade-offs between short-term and long-term priorities
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, and coordinate with adjacent teams to align ‌deliverables.
  • Promote the culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Drive innovation, definition, deliverables planning (roadmap) and design of entirely new products and features to deliver against team and company goals.
  • Monitor and measure launched products, and feed learnings back into the product development process.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Experience as a Software Engineering Manager with a track record of successfully leading multiple teams
  • Experience building scalable and resilient distributed systems and the teams around them
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Aiming for raising the bar for technical excellence in your teams
  • Ability to work with product management and other stakeholders to deliver well scoped, high-quality products on time
  • Passionate about the team, providing each member with support and guidance and creating the best possible working environment
  • Foster collaboration, candor and a healthy balance of mutual support and challenge

How We Define Success:

  • Problem-solving and the ability to find resolutions (knowing who to talk to, what needs to be done, etc.)
  • Define clear deliverables with vendors, developing and meeting those deadlines.
  • Remediation of issues, coming up with solutions

Nice To Have, but Not Required:

  • Experience in Banking or Fintech Domain
