The Role

What You’ll Do

• Design, train, and productionize ranking and recommendation models that match renters with relevant offers and experiences in the Fancy app.
• Develop generative AI solutions to personalize copy, creative, and conversational flows (e.g., embeddings, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation).
• Build anonymized segmentation and predictive models to surface actionable renter insights while protecting privacy.
• Establish robust ML Ops pipelines including feature stores, CI/CD workflows, A/B testing frameworks, and model monitoring systems.
• Define success metrics for ML initiatives and measure impact rigorously throughout the product lifecycle.
• Expose and integrate model inference services through scalable, low-latency APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to translate product vision into data science roadmaps and project plans.
• Mentor future data scientists and contribute to establishing standards for fairness, transparency, and explainability in AI systems.
• Conduct research and experimentation to continuously improve model performance and user engagement.

What You Bring

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying ML systems at scale (recommender systems, predictive modeling, or ad-tech preferred).
• Proven track record of taking multiple machine learning models from prototype to production with measurable business impact.
• Expertise in the Python ecosystem (Pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow/JAX, scikit-learn).
• Strong SQL skills and experience with big data tools (Spark, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Hands-on experience with Gen AI and LLM workflows (prompt engineering, fine-tuning, vector databases, RAG pipelines).
• ML Ops experience on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and workflow orchestration (Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Proficiency in integrating model services with scalable, version-controlled APIs.
• Familiarity with ad-tech measurement, attribution, and lift modeling.
• Working knowledge of consumer data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).

• Product mindset, clear written & verbal communication, and a drive to turn insights into user value fast.

• A track record shipping machine learning solutions in a two-sided marketplace.
