As a Hardware Test Engineer at Eargo, you will be encouraged to push the limits of hearing aid technology to create delightful experiences for our customers – you will define the future of hearing health. The Hardware Test Engineer supports all verification activities in the hardware team, ensuring products meet or exceed requirements. This person will be responsible for executing assigned cases and plans for internally executed tests and may also support revising/editing test cases if necessary. Experience in hardware verification and testing knowledge is required to support both new product development and sustaining products. Collaboration with other teams within R&D along with Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance departments will be essential to meet ambitious schedules and product quality goals.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in reviews of requirements, design documents, and test related artifacts
- Understand testing needs for our products.
- Reviewing detailed verification test plans, test procedures and test reports
- Perform verification tests and conduct analysis of the test results to ensure complete verification of the requirements
- Identifying and analyzing technical issues and working with senior team members to bring issues to resolution
- Proactively own and drive process improvements that are relevant to day-to-day activities
- Perform work with little to no supervision
- Working with external test houses if needed
- Working with Class 1 and 2 medical device standards is preferred
Requirements
- BS (or higher) in engineering or relevant STEM discipline
- 1+ years of professional medical hardware verification experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Hardware Test Protocol editing and testing
- Statistical analyses experience is preferred
- HW V&V, Design knowledge, Test plan/script, reviews of requirements, design documents and test related artifacts preferred
- Knowledge of requirements and DHF tools preferred, JAMA and Propel
