Sports Marketing Internship, Summer 2024

Location: Boston
Start date: Mid/late May
End date: Through mid/late August
Hours: 15-25 hours per week, 3-4 days per week, preferred hours 10am-3pm
This is a Hybrid role with the option to work from home or from the Trackhouse in Boston. Tuesday’s are always in-office days.

Come and play a pivotal role in helping support Tracksmith’s amateur athletes chase their Olympic dreams. Our goal is to provide a best-in-class athlete hospitality experience at the Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, so we are looking for an outstanding candidate who wants to connect with, support and serve our athletes as they prepare for their competitions.

The Sports Marketing Intern will work closely alongside our Sr. Manager of Sports Marketing & Partnerships to scale and add efficiency to our sports marketing initiatives. You will primarily assist in the day-to-day operations of the Amateur Support Program, NIL program, Team Partnerships program, and Hare A.C. (our global running community).

Responsibilities:

  • Sports Marketing:

    • Support Eugene Olympic Trials Activation
      • Travel to Eugene, OR June 19th through July 1st required
    • Assist with NIL program Europe trip planning
    • Place athlete gear orders
    • Write monthly Amateur Support Program newsletter
    • Track athlete results and social media posts
  • Teams:

    • Research clubs in target international cities
    • Track results and social media of our sponsored clubs
    • Issue gift cards to clubs
  • Hare A.C.:

    • Monitor Hare A.C. online community channel in Slack
    • Write PR bonus response emails
    • Plan out annual Hare A.C. Talking Running seminar
    • Assist with partner relationship needs

Additional Daily Tasks Include:

  • Cross-functional communication with other teams at Tracksmith giving you the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience and gain insight into multiple areas of the business.
  • Event support at Tracksmith’s in-house summer races.
  • Assisting local Boston staff with various tasks at the Boston Trackhouse.
  • Occasionally assisting other community team members (Director of Community and Boston, NYC, and London Managers) with various tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and relate to athletes.
  • Enthusiastic and punctual.
